Rules/ Team Information

• Play with 12” regulation softball
• 40’ pitching rubber; 60’ base path

• All players must bat
• Players are required to play 2 full innings

• Open substitution
• Half innings end after 3 outs or 5 runs

•No pitching or catching limitations
• Umpire(s) will be provided

•Game ties not played out 

• Clean all trash from your dugout

•Courtesy runners for catcher only (last out)

•5 league games to play in State Touranment

•5 warmup pitches for first inning then 1 pitch after that unless new pitcher

• No new inning started after 1 hour 30 minutes on single games; innings will be completed

• No new inning started after 1 hour 15 minutes on double headers; innings will be completed

 

Practices

Our weekly practices will be:

During the season we'll practice on Saturday mornings at 10:30-noon at Frank Olson field 8.

Cancellations

If a practice is cancelled I will send out a text and/or email to the team. Please give me your text number and/or email.

Coaches

Jay Schroeder has joined our coaching staff, he has been a very successful youth coach on the Sioux Falls Explosion for years. Jay and his daughter are joining the Gators this year, please welcome them. But we need all the help we can get with coaching. Consider this an invitation to help.  If you'd like to be an assistant coach let me know. If you can't commit to be an assistant please consider being a base coach or just helping out during practices. You are also encouraged to play catch at home. Every bit of individual attention will help them. If you want to be an assistant coach you must fill out a background check. See me to get a form.
